Dried Fruit Tea Stirrers
There’s something especially cozy about enjoying a steaming cup of tea in the Sukkah on a cool autumn night. These Dried Fruit Tea Stirrers are a creative way to make that simple moment feel extra special.
They’re easy to prepare, can be made a few days in advance and look gorgeous arranged beside teacups or displayed in a pretty glass. Serve them after a Yom Tov meal, bring them out when guests stop by or use them as part of a complete Sukkos tea station.
This creative idea is featured in this week’s Family First.
A few years ago, we also featured a beautiful Sukkos tea station in Family First. These stirrers would be the perfect addition! Visit our Hostess with the Mostess Tea Station for inspiration and ideas for creating your own cozy tea setup.
You Will Need
- Hard sucking candies—we used Matlow’s
- Dried fruit—we used dates, dried kiwi, star fruit and oranges from Oh! Nuts
- Wooden skewers
- Parchment paper
- Baking sheet
Directions
Prepare the Baking Sheet
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Arrange the Candies
For each stirrer, place two candies side by side on the parchment paper. Leave plenty of space between each set to allow the candies to spread as they melt.
Melt the Candies
Bake for approximately five minutes, or until the candies have melted and are just beginning to bubble.
Watch them carefully, as they can melt quickly.
Add the Skewers and Fruit
Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Working quickly gently shape the melted candy with a skewer if needed.
Carefully place one end of a wooden skewer into each portion of melted candy. Arrange the dried fruit on top, pressing it gently into the candy.
The melted candy will be extremely hot, so do not touch it with your hands.
Allow to Cool
Let the tea stirrers cool completely before carefully removing them from the parchment paper.
Prepare in Advance
Store the tea stirrers in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. They can be prepared up to a few days in advance, making them an easy and elegant addition to your Sukkos menu.
Serve them alongside hot tea, or add them to a complete tea station for a creative presentation your guests will love.
