Best Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 sticks margarine
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • toppings (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Place margarine, sugar, egg and vanilla extract in the bowl of an electric mixer.
  • Add flour and mix till a soft dough forms.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface.
  • Use cookie cutters to cut cookies out and place them on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
  • Bake the cookies 12-15 minutes or until the edges start getting a golden color.
  • Place the cookies on a cooling rack.
  • Decorate the cookies (optional).

Notes

Cookie dough can be frozen for up to two month.
