Easy Lulav and Esrog Cookies for Sukkot

These adorable Lulav and Etrog Cookies are such a fun and easy treat for Sukkos! Using ready-made cookies and green fondant makes them simple to put together, with no baking required.

We originally created these cookies for Family First, and they are a great way to bring a little Sukkos fun to your Yom Tov table. Serve them for dessert, add them to a kids’ table or make them together as a creative Sukkos activity.

They’re especially fun because everyone immediately recognizes the little lulav and esrog design!

A Fun Sukkos Treat for Kids

If you’re looking for an easy Sukkot treat for kids, this is one that requires very little prep.

Starting with store-bought cookies means you can concentrate on the fun part—decorating! Kids can help shape the green fondant and turn each cookie into a festive Lulav and Esrog treat.

They also make a great Chol Hamoed activity when you’re looking for something creative and edible to do with the kids.

Tip: Shop for the cookies early! Last year, the stores ran out as Sukkos got closer.

What You’ll Need

  • Chocolate swirl cookies with yellow icing

  • Green fondant

  • Icing (optional, for sticking)

That’s It!

In just minutes, you’ll have the cutest lulav and etrog cookies — perfect for a dessert tray, kids’ craft activity, or a sweet gift for neighbors and guests.

These cookies capture the spirit of Succos in the most delightful way — no oven required!

Directions

  1. Roll out the green fondant on a clean surface.

  2. Shape it into a lulav — long and narrow, with little detail if you’d like (you can keep it simple or get fancy).

  3. Attach the lulav to the cookie, placing it next to the yellow “esrog” center. Use a dab of icing to secure it if needed.
