Although we are featuring this quote gift idea now for Purim, it can be used throughout the year, anytime you want to send someone an “I’m thinking of you” package.
These are the quotes we used.
“Life is Sweet” (filled with strawberry candy)
“If life gives you lemons make lemonade” (filled with lemon candy)
“Sometimetimes it takes me all day to get nothing done” (filled with nothing!)
“Every cloud has a silver lining” (filled with marshmallows)
“A balanced diet, chocolate in both hands” (filled with klik balls)
“Coffee is responsible for todays good mood” (filled with chocolate coffee beans or coffee candy)
CANDY QUOTE PACKAGE
You will need:
- nested boxes
- wrapping paper and tag-optional
- labels
- full sheet labels
- ribbon
- wrapping paper
Directions:
- Fill the boxes with candy.
- Print out labels on full sheet labels. and cut them out.
- Apply labels to square boxes.
- Place small boxes in the outer box.
- Wrap box in wrapping paper and add a ribbon and tag.
COOKIE QUOTE PACKAGE
You will need:
- tapered tote box with window
- cellophane bags
- round labels
- 2.5” cookies (instructions below)
Prepare your cookies:
- For the chocolate quote and the silver lining quotes, we used Ostreicher chocolate frozen cookie dough-1.5 balls per cookie. We added milk chocolate to the cookies as they came out of the oven, then drizzled with melted chocolate once cooled; for the silver lining cookies, we mixed in marshmallows before baking.
- For the “Life is sweet,” coffee, and lemon quotes, we used this chocolate chip cookie recipe, leaving the dough plain and without add-ins. For “Life is sweet”, we used pink icing with Trader Joe’s crushed freeze-dried strawberries. For the coffee quote, we added coffee beans as soon as the cookies came out of the oven. For the lemon quote, we used a lemon drizzle.
Wrap the cookies in the cellophane bags and add the quote labels. Arrange the wrapped cookies in the tote box and affix an outer label.
