This Go Green Salad recipe is an old time salad recipe favorite.
The actual salad components are not specifically exotic, nor full of extra calories. However, the combination of the lettuce, scallions, water chestnuts, celery and green peas is very light, delightful and tasty. Somehow, even the non pea lovers also agree that it is a great salad recipe to have in your salad repertoire.

Go Green Salad
Ingredients
- 16 ounces lettuce
- 1/2 cup scallions chopped
- 1 cup celery thinly sliced
- 10 ounces frozen green peas defrosted
- 8 ounces water chestnuts sliced
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Arrange vegetable in large salad bowl.
- In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise, sugar, salt and garlic powder.
- Mix dressing into the salad right before serving.
