A Dessert Board Everyone Will Love
A few months ago, our friend Faigy Grossman created an amazing ice cream board feature in Treeo Magazine. We loved the concept so much that we couldn’t resist borrowing the idea and adapting it into a fun, flexible dessert that’s perfect for Pesach — or really, any time of year.
It’s the kind of dessert that looks impressive, feels festive, and is surprisingly easy to put together.
Start with a Simple Base
The beauty of a dessert board is how customizable it is.
You can use any ice cream or mousse as your base. Keep it super simple with your favorite store-bought or homemade option, or elevate it slightly by adding a thin layer of cake underneath.
Prefer to skip the cake? That works perfectly too — the board will still be just as delicious.
Toppings That Make It Fun
This is where the magic happens. Add a variety of textures and flavors so everyone can build their perfect bite:
fresh fruit
chocolate chips or chocolate curls
coconut flakes
whole, chopped, slivered, or candied nuts
crushed cookies or meringues
optional drizzle (chocolate, caramel, or any sauce you like)
Make It an Activity
One of the best parts of this idea? It’s interactive.
Kids especially love decorating boards, turning dessert into a hands-on activity.
Serve It Beautifully
Any dish or container will work. We used acrylic organizing trays.
The containers we used for the Mango Pina Colada Boards work great for ice cream boards too. They are pretty and practical containers that come with covers. They are available in different sizes and stack beautifully.
What We Used
For our version, we kept things classic and crowd-pleasing with:
vanilla ice cream
chocolate mousse
Easy Cream Boards are an easy win — customizable, interactive, and guaranteed to be a hit with guests of all ages.
Directions:
- Add a layer of cake to the bottom of the tray. (optional)
- Spread ice cream on top of the take or directly on the tray.

Is it safe to put in the freezer prepared and then take out a little before serving time, or will the tray crack?
The acrylic tray should not crack in the freezer.
