Metal cans are inexpensive and with the right graphics and labels they have the look of specialty items.
For this package we used a wide ribbon to tie the cans together . We enjoyed not having to use cellophane, for a change. The top box is topped off with a peacock feather for a little extra pizazz.
You will need:
- 3 metal cans (purchased at Amazing Savings)
- chocolate covered pretzels
- dried kiwi
- marbleized cookies
- peacock feather
- wide ribbon
- colored string
- graphics (OMG [email protected])
- Blue or green shred, optional
Directions:
- Place some shred in each can.
- Fill the cans with food (I used a small cellephane bag to put the food in before putting it in the can).
- Place stickers on the cans.
- If you are using the feather, use a drill to make a small hole on the cover of the top can or simply tape it to the back of the can.
- Stack up the cans and bring the ribbon around the cans to tie a tight knot. It is a good idea to run a piece of packaging tape on the back of the can to reinforce the stack.
- Attach tag to your ribbon.
Marbelized Cookies
- your favorite sugar cookies
- baking chocolate, melted
- blue and green chocolate, melted
Directions:
- Place a small puddle of chocolate in the center of each cookie.
- Drop ¼- ½ tsp of each color candy melts into the chocolate and swirl around with a toothpick. Allow to dry.
