Easy Sukkah Decorating Ideas + Leafy Sukkah Chandeliers

There’s something so special about decorating the sukkah and turning it into a beautiful space for Yom Tov. But with everything else that needs to get done before Sukkos, we’re always looking for Sukkah decorating ideas that make an impact without adding hours of extra work.

For this sukkah, we focused on lots of greenery and natural textures to create a warm, classic look. One of our favorite additions is these leafy Sukkah chandeliers. They come together in just minutes, can be customized to coordinate with your décor, and can be packed away to enjoy year after year.

Decorating a Beautiful Sukkah

When decorating a sukkah, you don’t necessarily need lots of complicated projects. A few larger elements can completely transform the space.

Hanging greenery is a great way to draw the eye upward and make the entire sukkah feel decorated. Natural textures, greenery, and simple decorative accents work together beautifully while still keeping the overall look classic and timeless.

Our leafy chandeliers were the perfect finishing touch for this sukkah. They add plenty of visual impact without requiring a complicated DIY.

DIY Leafy Sukkah Chandeliers

These leafy chandeliers are surprisingly simple to put together. We used faux ferns so they’ll stay looking beautiful throughout Yom Tov and can be reused from year to year.

We kept ours simple with faux ferns and macramé planter holders, but this project is very easy to customize. Try different shades of greenery, leaf shapes, planters, or hanging holders to coordinate with the rest of your Sukkah décor.

You’ll Need

• 8″ planter
• Macramé plant hanger
• 6″ round piece of floral foam
• Faux ferns or greenery

Choosing Your Greenery

You can use either individual fern stems or bundles of ferns, depending on what you find and how full you want the finished chandelier to look.

We used four bundles, with approximately eight fern stems in each bundle. We purchased the ferns at Michaels and found the other supplies on Amazon.
