Now that your sukkah is probably built already, it’s time for edible sukkah ideas. Remember the Peanut Chew Sukkah we created for Kosher.com a few years ago?
We love opportunities to involve children in plate art. Aside from the final product, it’s an opportunity for them to plan, design and create . This Salad Sukkah can be done on many different levels- simple to sophisticated. You can also use this Salad Sukkah idea to plate an individual portion as well.
We used an apple corer to cut out the deli, but you can also use cubes.
You can use any types of crackers or breadsticks for the “walls”.
Tip: This idea can be used as a fun “chop” style competition on Chol Hamoed.
You will need:
- large wood board or mini wood boards
- deli (We had the deli counter cut a 1/4” slice)
- assorted vegetables (sliced olives, sliced mini peppers etc.)
- lettuce
- Melba Toast
- apple corer (optional)
