Birthday Cake Rice Krispie Treats: A No-Bake Cake or Fun Party Activity!

If you’re looking for an easy, no-bake birthday cake idea—or a hands-on party, camp, or family fun activity everyone will love—Birthday Cake Rice Krispie Treats are the perfect solution!

These colorful, customizable treats are a creative twist on the classic recipe, and they work beautifully as either a centerpiece cake or a DIY decorating station for kids (and adults!).

Start with the traditional Rice Krispie Treat base, or switch it up with Cocoa Pebbles for a chocolatey twist or strawberry marshmallow fluff for fruity fun. You can tint the mixture with food coloring to match any theme—think bright rainbow layers, soft pastels, or bold party colors. Once set, shape the treats into letters, numbers, or fun shapes, and decorate with icing, sprinkles, candies, or any toppers.

Whether you’re making a festive Rice Krispie “cake”, or letting guests decorate their own creations, this treat is a great group activity—just make sure to prepare the  mixture right before the fun begins.

Delicious, no baking required, and endlessly creative—it’s everything a fun and sweet dessert should be!

Our No Bake Cookie Cakes and Cupcake Cakes  are also fun ways to decorate a  “cake”.

You will need:

    • letters, numbers, or pictures to trace. The letters we used were 5.5×8.5 inches(14×21.5 cm).

    • your favorite Rice Krispies treat recipe (We got approximately 5 letters per recipe.)

    • assorted candies and sprinkles (Not all the candy we used here is available on Amazon.)

Directions:

  1. Using a marker or a pen, trace the initial or picture on the parchment paper and cut it out. To avoid placing the food on the marker, you can trace it backwards.
  2. Attach the initial to a plate, tray, or the bottom of a gift box with icing or marshmallow fluff.
  3. If you’re adding food coloring, add it to the fluff mixture just before you mix in the Rice Krispies.
  4. Divide the Rice Krispies mixture.
  5. Wet your hands and press the mixture onto the initial.
  6. Decorate with candy and sprinkles.
