Clown with a Twist: A Fun and Creative DIY Project
Here’s an adorable DIY clown project that serves as the perfect mishloach manos, party favor, or even a gragger.
You can make this Clown with a Twist by filling a tube and tying the ends with ribbons or by using a crimper, like we did for these Custom Paper Bags. Either way you pick this is a fun way to clown around.
You will need:
- clown printable, printed on soft 8.5″ x 11″ paper
- paper towel or toilet paper rolls or plastic tube containers
- candy or treats to fill the tube
- ribbons
- tape
- scissors

Directions:
- Prepare the Tube: Cut the paper towel rolls into sections approximately 2.5–3” long.
- Fill the Tube: Add candy, small treats, or small dried beans (if using as a gragger) to the tube.
- Seal the Ends: If using a paper towel/toilet paper roll, secure the top and bottom with tape to prevent items from falling out.
- Cut off the sides of the printable. You will only need the center part with the clown.
- Wrap the Clown: Place the tube at the center of the clown printable and wrap the paper around the tube.
- Secure the Ends: Gently squeeze the paper at the top and bottom of the tube to create a gathered effect.
- Tie the Ribbons: Cut four pieces of ribbon, each about 10” long. Take two ribbons and tie them together with a knot about 1–2” from the end. Wrap the ribbon around one end of the tube and secure with a second knot. Repeat on the other end with the remaining two ribbons.
