A Rosh Hashanah Table Inspired by the Pomegranate
We’re excited to share this pomegranate-inspired Rosh Hashanah tablescape, which we featured in this week’s Family Table Magazine!
For this table, we took inspiration from one of the most recognizable Rosh Hashanah simanim—the pomegranate. Rather than making the table overly themed, we incorporated pomegranates and rich ruby-red accents into a few special details throughout the table.
From the flowers and seating cards to the simanim presentation and honey dishes, the repeated pomegranate touches bring everything together for a table that feels elegant, festive, and perfect for Rosh Hashanah.
Pomegranates in the Flowers
The gorgeous flowers by Petals & Chic set the tone for the entire table.
Fresh pomegranates were tucked right into the floral arrangement, adding a beautiful seasonal element and bringing that deep pomegranate color into the centerpiece. We love how incorporating actual fruit into flowers can make an arrangement feel especially abundant and interesting.
The pomegranates also connect the centerpiece to all of the smaller pomegranate details found throughout the table.
Pomegranate Wax Seal Seating Cards
At each place setting, we added one of our editable Rosh Hashanah seating cards finished off with a handmade pomegranate wax seal.
We created the little pomegranates using red sealing wax and added an initial to the center of each one. It’s a simple DIY, but that small personalized detail makes each setting feel extra special.
The rich red wax also picks up the pomegranate tones in the flowers and ties the place settings into the centerpiece.
A Creative Way to Present the Simanim
We carried the pomegranate wax seals over to the individual simanim domes as well.
Each guest gets their own beautifully presented simanim under a clear dome, topped with a little pomegranate wax seal. It’s a creative way to make the traditional simanim part of the tablescape itself while still keeping everything neat and elegant.
We love finding new ways to present the simanim each year, and this is one of those ideas that looks impressive without being difficult to recreate.
Ruby Red Napkin Rings That Look Like Jewelry
The ruby-red napkin rings might be one of our favorite finds on the table. They almost look like jewelry!
We specifically chose the rich ruby red for Rosh Hashanah, and they add just the right amount of color and sparkle to each setting. They’re beautiful enough to make even a simple napkin feel special.
They would also make an amazing hostess gift. A beautiful set of napkin rings is something your hostess can enjoy for Yom Tov and then use again for future tables.
Individual Pomegranate Honey Dishes from Waterdale
Another detail we love is the individual pomegranate honey dish from Waterdale at each setting.
Individual honey dishes are both pretty and practical for Rosh Hashanah, and the pomegranate shape couldn’t be more perfect for this table. They add another subtle layer to the theme while giving every guest their own honey for dipping.
Bringing the Pomegranate Theme Together
The key to this table was not using pomegranates everywhere, but repeating the idea in just the right places.
Fresh pomegranates tucked into the flowers, pomegranate wax seals on the seating cards and simanim domes, individual pomegranate honey dishes, and ruby-red napkin rings all subtly connect to one another.
It’s a great example of how choosing one Rosh Hashanah element as your inspiration can help you create an entire table that feels coordinated without looking too matched or overly themed.
