Candy Simanim Rosh Hashanah Gift

A Sweet Rosh Hashanah Gift Idea

We love the idea of giving a candy gift package for Rosh Hashanah where each candy represents one of the simanim. It’s colorful, meaningful, and best of all, this DIY Rosh Hashanah gift can be put together in just minutes!

Choose candies that coordinate with the different simanim, place them into individual compartments or boxes, add our printable labels, and you have a fun gift that’s perfect for family, friends, teachers, hostesses, or anyone you want to wish a sweet new year.

The Packaging We Used

For our candy simanim gift, we used a six-pack of 2-inch acrylic boxes.

What we especially loved about this packaging was how easy it was to make it look polished. We filled each of the individual acrylic boxes with candy, removed the original cardboard label from the outer packaging, and then simply slid the filled boxes right back into it.

We added our printable simanim labels, tied the entire package with a ribbon—and that was it!

It looks like a beautifully packaged gift without requiring lots of wrapping or assembly.

Choose Your Own Candy Simanim

Part of the fun is finding candies that represent each of the traditional simanim. You can use colors, shapes, or flavors that coordinate with each one.

Our editable printable includes labels for:

  • Apple
  • Carrots
  • Beets
  • Fish
  • Leek
  • Pomegranate
  • Honey
  • Dates

You certainly don’t need to use all of them. Choose as many simanim as you’d like depending on the size and style of your packaging.

Make It Your Own

There are so many ways to put this idea together. Below, we’ve included links to different types of packaging, whether you’re looking for something inexpensive and easy or a more sophisticated option for gifting.

We’ve also linked some candy options to get you started. Many of the candies we used weren’t available on Amazon, so be sure to check your local candy store—you may find even more creative options there.

Editable Simanim Labels

To make assembling your gifts even easier, the simanim labels are editable.

You can print them as is on a full-sheet label and cut them out yourself, or arrange them to fit precut label sheets.

This also gives you the flexibility to choose exactly which simanim you want to include and create a gift in virtually any size.

A Sweet Start to the New Year

This is such an easy way to turn a simple box of candy into a thoughtful and meaningful Rosh Hashanah gift. And with candy representing all the different simanim, everyone will definitely be starting the year on a sweet note!
