Why You’ll Love This Dessert

Gorgeous presentation
Simple ingredients – Just pears, puff pastry, and confectioners’ sugar.
Quick to prepare – Ready in under 30 minutes.

What You’ll Need

      • soft bosc pears

      • partially frozen puff pastry (5” squares or sheets)

      • confectioners’ sugar

    Directions:

        1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
        2. Prepare the pear – Cut a pear in half, remove the core, and make a few small indentations with a knife for texture.
        3. Roll out the puff pastry lightly.
        4. Shape the pastry – Place the pear on the dough and trace around it, leaving a ¼-inch border. Cut out a leaf shape and attach it.
        5. Let the pastry defrost completely before baking.
        6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
        7. Cool and finish – Remove from the oven, let cool, and dust with confectioners’ sugar.

This Puff Pastry Pear is a showstopper dessert that’s easy enough for a weekday treat yet elegant enough for special occasions.

      1. I would love to make this dessert as pear is a favorite in my house though I have one question. How can it be that when you sprinkle confectioners sugar it doesn’t go into the grooves/ slits of the pear.

        1. That’s a great question!
While it may settle into the grooves at first, the natural moisture from the flesh of the pear will cause that area to dissolve fairly quickly.
