What You’ll Need

- partially frozen puff pastry (5” squares or sheets)

Directions:

- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the pear – Cut a pear in half, remove the core, and make a few small indentations with a knife for texture.
- Roll out the puff pastry lightly.
- Shape the pastry – Place the pear on the dough and trace around it, leaving a ¼-inch border. Cut out a leaf shape and attach it.
- Let the pastry defrost completely before baking.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool and finish – Remove from the oven, let cool, and dust with confectioners’ sugar.

I would love to make this dessert as pear is a favorite in my house though I have one question. How can it be that when you sprinkle confectioners sugar it doesn’t go into the grooves/ slits of the pear.
That’s a great question!
While it may settle into the grooves at first, the natural moisture from the flesh of the pear will cause that area to dissolve fairly quickly.
