Sweet Success: Celebrate Your Grad with These Charming Cookies
It’s time to celebrate the graduate—the hard work, the big milestones, and the exciting future ahead.
These graduation cookies have a clever detail: a mini diploma tied right on top. It’s a simple touch that makes a big impression—perfect as party favors or on a buffet.
You can customize the cookies in many ways. You can use icing or chocolate to decorate them as well. You can also use any color fondant or ribbon that matches school colors or party décor.
Simple to make and easy to personalize, these cookies are a fun way to say, “You did it!”
You will need:
- 2.5-3” square cookie cutter
- alphabet embossers
- sugar cookie dough
- fondant
- ribbon
- straw
- 2.5” square piece of copy paper
Directions:
- Roll out the cookie dough, cut it into squares using the cookie cutter and bake.
- Roll out the fondant. You can mix two colors together to give it a marbleized look.
- Use the same square cookie cutter to cut out a square from the fondant.
- Emboss the fondant with a message such as “ you did it” or use a name.
- Cut two holes in the fondant with a straw.
- Carefully stick a string through the holes coming from the back side of the fondant. If the fondant is too soft to work with you can let it air dry a little bit first.
- Roll the paper and tie it to the cookie.
Tip:
If you plan to use the cookies plain or use icing or chocolate to decorate the cookies, use the straw to make the holes in the cookies before baking. You can also emboss the cookie dough before baking.
