Fill small apple-shaped plastic containers with your favorite flavors of sorbet or ices for an adorable individual dessert. Choose apple-inspired colors like red, green and yellow, or use a variety of flavors so everyone can pick their favorite.
It’s one of those ideas that takes just minutes to put together but looks so cute served at each place or arranged together on a tray.
An Easy Apple Dessert for Rosh Hashanah
Apples are such an iconic part of Rosh Hashanah, and we’re always looking for creative ways to incorporate them beyond the traditional apples and honey.
These apple containers do all the work! Simply fill them with ices, freeze until you’re ready to serve, and you have a fun apple-themed Rosh Hashanah dessert with practically no preparation.
It’s especially perfect after a large Yom Tov meal when something cold and refreshing is just what everyone wants.
Prepare Them Ahead of Time
One of the best things about this dessert is that it can be completely prepared ahead of time.
Fill the apples whenever you have a few extra minutes, place them in the freezer and check dessert off your Rosh Hashanah to-do list.
When it’s time for dessert, there’s nothing to cut, plate or decorate—just take the apples out of the freezer and serve.
A Fun Individual Rosh Hashanah Dessert
Individual desserts always make a table feel a little more special, and these couldn’t be easier.
Place an apple at each setting for a fun surprise, or arrange a collection of colorful apples on a tray and bring them out for dessert.
They’re cute for adults and especially fun for kids!

What You Will Need
- Small plastic apple-shaped containers
- Sorbet or ices in your favorite flavors
That’s it!
How to Make Apple Shaped Ices
Simply scoop your favorite sorbet or ices into the apple-shaped containers and keep them frozen until you’re ready to serve.
We filled both halves of the apple with ices for an extra-fun presentation. For a bit neater and more practical serving option, simply add a scoop to the bottom half and snap the apple lid on top.
Choose Your Favorite Flavors
You can use just one flavor or fill the apples with an assortment.
Red, green, yellow and pink sorbets look especially pretty inside the apple containers. You can also coordinate the colors with your Rosh Hashanah table or let each flavor be a surprise until guests open their apples.
