Easy Apple and Honey Cookies for Rosh Hashanah

Looking for a sweet Rosh Hashanah treat that is as easy to make as it is adorable? These Apple and Honey Cookies are a fun way to bring one of the most recognizable Rosh Hashanah simanim to your dessert table.

If you’ve seen some of our other apple  cookie ideas, you know we love giving this Rosh Hashanah classic a creative twist. This version may be the easiest yet—no baking required!

Start with store-bought iced cookies, add a few simple details, and transform them into apple slices dipped in “honey.” The cookies we used resemble black-and-white cookies, except they are completely white. If you can’t find them, you can use the white side of a black-and-white cookie instead.

They’re perfect for a Rosh Hashanah dessert, kids’ activity, school project or sweet treat to give to family and friends.

A Simple Rosh Hashanah Edible Craft

We love projects that look creative without requiring hours in the kitchen, and these cookies are exactly that.

The small white iced cookies make the perfect blank canvas. Cut them in half to create the shape of an apple slice, use edible markers to add the peel and seeds, and finish them off with a dip in yellow chocolate or icing to resemble honey.

So simple—and instantly recognizable as apples and honey for a sweet new year!

Perfect for Making With Kids

Because you begin with ready-made cookies, this is a great Rosh Hashanah activity to do with children.

Set out the cookie halves and edible markers and let the kids create their own apple slices. An adult can help with the dipping if you’re using melted chocolate.

It’s part craft, part dessert—and everyone gets to eat their masterpiece when they’re finished.

Serve Them on Your Rosh Hashanah Table

Arrange the finished cookies on a pretty platter for an easy addition to your Rosh Hashanah dessert table.

You can also place one at each setting, package a few in a clear bag as a small Rosh Hashanah treat, or add them to a dessert or sweets board.

An Easy Treat for School or a Rosh Hashanah Party

These are also a fun idea when you need to make a larger quantity of treats. Since there is no cookie dough to prepare, roll or bake, you can create an entire batch relatively quickly.

They would be adorable for a classroom Rosh Hashanah activity, children’s party or pre-Yom Tov baking activity when you want to keep the mess to a minimum.

Wishing You a Sweet New Year
